On Getting Paid Salary

December 6, 2006

Salary is a loop hole to get around paying you in proportion to the work you do.  And we sit here and boast that the company has taken us off hourly pay and put us on salary.  Now they can request additional hours and make you work weekends, without having to pay you more.  They got you working for free!  Every bit of work you do, you should be paid on.  I can guarantee, if you put a price on every task you did, you’d find you should be making a lot more than your salary pays!

Don’t worry there is a better way: Winning Edge Enterprises

On The Good Old Days

We sat there and thought we we’re just waisting time. Now I look back and see how much those times were really worth. I’d give anything to have them back.

On Nintendo Wii

December 6, 2006

nintendo_wii_1.jpgThough I’m not much of a video game fanatic, except for Halo, of course. The new Nintendo Wii gaming system really caught my eye. This is system has revolutionized how video games are played.

1) It gets video gamers off their asses! With Wii you have to get physically involved with the game. For instance, in their Tennis game, you have to make the motions of swinging the racket. Now you can get exercise while you play video games.

2) A larger audience can play these games. Since it has a motion sensor, you don’t have to know what buttons to press and what combo’s do what. Practically anyone can play, all your doing is making the motions, swing the bat, throw the fishing rod.

Now all they need to do is license Halo for Nintendo, and we’ll be set. :-D

On Blackberry

I used to have a Blackberry myself when I worked as a real estate agent. For some reason I was under the impression that I had to recieve my emails instantly. After a few weeks of having it, I turned the email off. I couldn’t take it anymore. It had me in this constant “work” frame of mind. I mean sure you have to work, but you also need to relax, and this damn thing was just driving me crazy!

It seems everywhere I turn people are are typing away on their Blackberrys. Big corporations and the government give their employees these Blackberrys for free, as a part of their job. This is their way of putting you under “work arrest.”  With these Blackberrys people are working before they  get to the office and even after they leave. Waiting for the train of bus and constantly type, type, type!  Are they paying you to work these extra hours?

It’s a wonderful device, but we’ve allowed it to imprison us.
